Piracicaba, 17 - Carrot prices in São Gotardo (Minas Gerais state) went down 12% last week (10th to 14th August), an average of BRL 10.75 - 10% below production cost estimates. The reason for devaluation was an increase in supply in Cristalina (Goiás state) due to an growth of the planted area. In addition, another factor for the negative results is the reduction in sales, with the pandemic situation, mainly for the “non-market” standard – large carrots, for example. For the next week, carrot supply shall remain high.
