Piracicaba, 24th – Weather problems from 2019/20 season in some regions from Southest and South of Brazil are delaying harvest calendar to the start of 2020. So, prices are satisfactory in Paraná, Campinas (São Paulo state) and Porto Feliz (São Paulo state) – regions where the calendar is on schedule – and not so good in the ones where supply is focused on the first months of the year – as in São Miguel Arcanjo and Pilar do Sul (both in São Paulo state).
Vale do São Francisco (Pernambuco and Bahia state) may have higher supply in the first semester of 2020, trying to repeat the good exports from 2019. Area of BRS vitória variety will continue to increase in new plantings, mainly in Pirapora (Minas Gerais state) and Jales (São Paulo state). Besides that, it is expected that in 2020 producer regions will show a larger diversity of varieties, in order to have better profitability.
