Piracicaba, 30th – Lettuce summer season 2019/20 area tends to rise 12% in all Brazilian regions monitored by Hortifruti/Cepea. Considering positive results in the previous one (2018/19), producers may invest more this year.
For winter season 2020, the initial forecast is for the maintenance of planted area in 2019. Traditionally, prices in the second semester is lower and profitability are usually limited or negative. However, the consolidation of this scenario will depend on quotes in summer season 2019/20 and climate conditions until the beginning of planting.
