Piracicaba 25th – Negotiations to allow the export of grapes and other Brazilian agricultural products to China have been taking place in recent months. And, according to news on the “Notícias Agrícolas” portal, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Brazil in November could give final approval for the start of commercialization. Xi Jinping’s meeting with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, should have a very broad bilateral agenda.
The visit follows the example of the Brazilian president’s trip to China in April 2023, when more than 20 agreements were signed in areas such as agriculture, environment, science, and technology. The fruit sector is working to make these export operations viable, ensuring that Brazilian grapes reach China with assured quality.
The Brazilian fruit-growing sector seeks to expand its presence in the Chinese market, with the expectation of a new maritime route connecting the Brazilian Northeast region to the Asian continent, which could improve logistical competitiveness compared to countries such as Peru and Chile.
