Piracicaba, 27th – Brazilian shipments of table grapes decreased significantly in 2022 in comparison to the same period of 2021. According to Secex data, Brazil exported 12,400 tons between January and July, 45% less than in the same months of 2021. In revenue, grape exports totaled US$ 26.2 million, a reduction of 49% in this period. This performance was not a surprise, since the high humidity in Vale do São Francisco (Pernambuco and Bahia states) reduced the volume and quality of grapes.
Despite the decrease from 2021, grape exports are above the average of the 2010 decade (from 2010 to 2019): the increase was next to 374% in volume and 327% in revenue.
