Piracicaba, 08 - In the first semester, ordinarily, table grape season exports takes place between April and May. However, this year, the first cargo will be exported in March. Forecasts are good for this semester, mainly because table grape prices are high in international markets, especially in Europe – supply is low in Peru, South Africa and India due to weather conditions.
In São Francisco Valley, Brazil, on the other hand, production of new varieties (mainly white seedless arra 15 and sugar crisp) shall be higher than last year, stimulating exports. Besides that, shipments can be an additional channel for reducing seedless grape supply in Brazilian market, increasing prices locally.
