Piracicaba, 03rd - In 2022, grape producers from São Francisco Valley (Pernambuco and Bahia states) are facing challenges related to weather and high production costs. Despite good prices in the first two months of this year, frequent rains are bringing concerns about productivity, profitability, and diseases in the vineyards.
Producers had to intensify pulverization to avoid diseases and increase fertilization, but it might not be enough to ensure good productivity in the first semester. A lot of areas had losses in blossom, high levels of mildew, and berry crack. This scenario may also impact exports since supply and quality are smaller this semester.
