Harvest of carrots from winter season has begun in Cristalina (Goiás state) last week (17th to 21st July). Production has good quality and productivity is high, reaching 89.9 tons per hectare. The production increase was possible due to favorable weather conditions (low temperatures). Consequently, supply in the last days increased slightly compared to previous week, and carrot quotes fell 6%, closing at the average of BRL 14.00/box of 29 kilograms. Cristalina growers expect high productivity during all winter season.
