The exports of melons are losing rhythm. The supply in Europe (main buyer of Brazilian melon) is high and exceeding demand, with prices under pressure. From August to October, the volume of Brazilian melons sent to international market added 89.2 thousands of tones, a light increase of 1.8% in comparison to Aug-Oct/15, according to Secex. The revenue, in turn, summed US$ 63 million, 1.4% less in same comparison. Brazilian producers contact by Hortifruti/Cepea team said that there are difficulties to send melons, even the programmed ones. Therefore, Brazilian market could be an alternative to negotiate in November and, specially, December, during Year-end festivities.
