Piracicaba, 30th - Brazilian fruit exports are performing well in 2021. Five of eight fruits which Hortifruti Brasil writes reports about achieved records in volume until September, according to Secex data; those are lemons, limes, mangoes, watermelons and table grapes.
The foreign market has been growing for years, favored by the appreciation of the Dollar, and the export sector expects to achieve the goal of US$ 1 billion of revenue from fruit exports since the 2000s. So, it is possible that this value will finally be achieved in 2021!
It is important to remember that in 2020, even with a lot of uncertainties because of the pandemic, the fruit sector performance was really positive, and close to reaching the US$ 1 billion target - last year’s revenue totaled US$ 935.4 million, according to Secex data. Now, in 2021, partial data show that fruit shipments performance is even better than in 2020.
