Piracicaba, 06th – The demand for mangoes from Jaíba/Janaúba (Minas Gerais state) has been increasing since September. This surge in demand is primarily due to the limited supply in the Northeast of Brazil, specifically in São Francisco Valley and Livramento de Nossa Senhora.
In this scenario, prices have risen in all producer regions, which is an unusual trend for this period. Another contributing factor to the upward price movement is the robust international demand for Brazilian mangoes, since other producer countries, such as Peru, Ecuador and Spain, are experiencing low harvest in this season.
