Piracicaba, 11th – Last week (July 31st to August 4th), producers from Livramento de Nossa Senhora (Bahia state) started to harvest mango tommy in larger volumes, but prices did not please growers. According to Hortifruti/Cepea collaborators, harvest of tommy will intensify between September and October, but low demand and quality (smaller than in São Francisco Valley) are compromising profitability. Due to that, prices last week were 22% smaller in comparison to the week before. However, the beggining of exports from São Francisco Valley to the United States may reduce supply in domestic market next weeks, benefiting quotes for growers in Brazil.
