Piracicaba, 13th - Last week (August 2nd to 6th), there was appreciation of yellow melons in Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará states. Types 6 and 7 were quoted at BRL 26.42 per box of 13 kg each, 8% higher than those observed in the previous period.
According to agents consulted by Hortifruti/Cepea, the beginning of the month favored the demand for fruit in the region, given the good local quality. In addition, supply is increasing, but gradually, which has ensured this increase in prices.
As the availability of melon is increasing in a modest way in RN and CE states, it’s quotes might continue to rise this week.
