Piracicaba, 14th – Brazilian melon exports increased significantly in October. According to Hortifruti/Cepea collaborators, European requests for fruit were quite positive earlier that month, but retreated in the second half of the month, due to large volume of melon in Europe. Even so, the end results were encouraging. According to Secex, the volume of melon exported was 43 thousand tons in October, twice the volume of September and the highest observed for the month since 2015, and revenue nearly doubled reaching US$ 28 million in the period.
