Last week (August, 15-19th), nominal prices of banana nanica were the highest since March 2014 in Ribeira Valley (SP), according to Hortifruti/Cepea data. This variety price reached 2.21 BRL per kilo.
This scenario is due to low production that was caused by frost and low temperatures in June and July. Whereas supply should continues low in the coming weeks so prices could break new records.
