2019 was another positive year for mango in the Brazilian semiarid region. Fruit exports were record and national supply increased, since production in new areas started. Market was also active, absorbing the "surplus" most of the year.
In addition to new plantations, an increase in availability was also due to gain in productivity - mainly in the Norte de Minas Gerais (Minas Gerais state), Livramento de Nossa Senhora (Bahia state) and Vale do São Francisco (Pernambuco and Bahia states). In São Paulo state regions, however, 2018/19 crop production was low, allowing better remuneration.
