Piracicaba, 22 – Hortifruti/Cepea collaborators expect no changes in papaya production in Brazil this year. That's because, good financial returns in 2018 were not enough to promote new investments in the culture, since producers were still undercapitalized by low profitability of 2017.
Consequently, papaya producer may just renew area and invests in technology – this scenario, associated to good rain in 2018, can increase productivity in 2019. Sice high production cos tis expected, it can prevent the entry of new producer in market.
